The marketing team calls it the Star of the West.

Rapid City. I don't know how much of a star it is, but it does have some charms. After moving away (as so many of it's seeds have) I found myself searching for some pics of my hometown. I always found a few but wanted more. So I had a chance to get a few decent pics over the past couple of years and thought I'd post them. I hope this helps some of the home sick out there and those curious about the Star of the West.

I don't know why Blogger cut all my pics in half but I'm working on it.

What other city do you have a giant brontosaurs keeping watch over the town. Classic Americana.

This is a planned 15 story mixed use tower that I would love to see get built. It would be the tallest building in South Dakota. The deigns has actually changed a little and looks even better.

Our old rental. The place was sweet, $450 a month and 2 blocks to the Alex Johnson were cold Boulevards and silky car bombs waited.
